Hello and welcome back NEO Homeschoolers!! 😄How is life in your corner of northeast Ohio? We've been busy preparing for summer homeschool and eagerly looking forward to outdoor play-dates with friends. Personally, I've been busy with transforming NEO Homeschool Connections into the homeschool directory I believe northeast Ohio needs... lots of research and information collecting over here, haha. Anyway, since the process of transitioning to a homeschool directory is going to take a while, I thought I'd start a new, weekly series updating you all, my subscribers, on what I've been doing and the information I've been collecting. So, ready to get started? I know I am!

This week has been a hodge-podge of research and brainstorming. I am still in the process of figuring out exactly what I want this directory to look like, so there's a lot of brainstorming with my ever supportive hubby as well as a little ChatGPT use happening. I've also been doing some digging into resources in Cuyahoga County and the surrounding communities this week. So far, I've found several homeschool coops, a couple of homeschool friendly businesses, and of course, a plethora of homeschool friendly field trip destinations. A couple of the businesses I've found include Senora Clara Stacko's website, "Simply Teaching Spanish" and Kk's Forest Art School, both of which offer classes that would be great additions to a homeschool curriculum plan. Both of these businesses will be included in the directory alongside any other homeschool friendly businesses I come across (side note: My main focus has been on the homeschool coops this week.).

Now, you may be wondering how I'm going about finding these resources... NE Ohio is a rather large area after all. My current plan is to go county by county and do research within each county, compiling all of my findings into a collection of pages on my blog's homepage to create the directory. I intend to focus on counties that either have a lot to offer homeschoolers, such as Cuyahoga County or, counties that have a large homeschool community, such as Lake County. If you have a specific county in NE Ohio you'd like to see included in my research, you can reach out and let me know at homeschoolmama195@gmail.com.

Finally, this week has seen a lot of action with new subscribers on the blog, so before I close out, I'd like to take some time to welcome our newest subscribers:

Welcome new NEO homeschoolers!! Thanks for being here. And, thank you to all of my subscribers! Y'all are the reason I continue working to improve the content I am producing here.

Since there are so many new subscribers here, I want to include a little bit about myself at the end of each of these weekly updates so, here's the first of many Tiny Tidbits About Me.

Tiny Tidbits About Me:

I am new to homeschooling. I was raised attending the public school system. I was also a daycare kid because I had 2 working parents growing up. My first real introduction to what homeschooling was capable of doing was through my husband, whose mom homeschooled him and his 4 siblings all the way through high school.

All right, that's it for this week! I'm off to mom life and more research. See you back here next week for another update. Thanks for reading!! 😀
