NEO Homeschool Spotlight: Meet Clara Stacko {Simply Teaching Spanish}
Hello, and welcome back NEO Homeschoolers! It's time for another Homeschool Spotlight and this week, I want to introduce a homeschool treasure that many people probably don't even realize exists. Do you have a middle or high schooler looking to pick up a foreign language credit? Perhaps you're like me and aren't particularly fluent in any language other than English. This week, I am going to help with that challenge. NEO Homeschoolers, meet Clara Stacko, owner/teacher at Simply Teaching Spanish.
Clara offers nationally recognized, online, homeschool Spanish classes for students in grades 5-12. The classes are taught by Señora Stacko, as she prefers her students to call her, who is a native Spanish speaker from Puerto Rico and homeschool veteran. Clara's goal with Simply Teaching Spanish is to "provide students with engaging, structured instruction that aids in developing real-world communication skills while allowing parents to take a hands-off approach to Spanish {Clara}." At Simply Teaching Spanish, Clara offers:
- Conversational Spanish: Students in grades 5-8 focus on building confidence through speaking, listening, games, music, stories, and interactive activities.
- High School Spanish 1, 2, and 3: Full-year courses worth 1 homeschool credit where students receive instruction, assignments, quizzes, tests, and a certificate of completion. All grading for the high school courses is done by Clara.
All classes at Simply Teaching Spanish are taught online over Zoom, allowing not only homeschool students from NE Ohio, but from other states as well to participate as a routine part of their homeschool day.
