This Week in Homeschooling: NE Ohio Events, Classes, & Field Trips
Hello and welcome back, NEO Homeschoolers! We're starting something new this week... I'm going to do my best to send out weekly newsletters with a list of homeschool-friendly classes, events, and field trip ideas. Especially during the summer, it can be hard to find things to do, and if you're anything like me, you'd love for your kiddos to do a little learning during the summer months as well. With this new series of posts, my goal will be to give you, my fellow homeschool mamas - dads too - some inspiration for the week... help you plan your next field trip or find that one activity that will keep your kids having fun all day. As parents, we all love those activities, right? ;) Anyway, let's get started... July 12th-18th of 2026, here we go!

July 12th: Kids Nature Yoga @Watershed Stewardship Center, Confluence Rm., West Creek Reservation [2277 W. Ridgewood Dr. Parma, OH] – time: 12:15-1:45 PM – ages: 7+ {a Preschool Nature Yoga is also offered for 2-6 year olds} – price: $5 per person {registration required}
July 13th: Artist Camp @Cleveland History Center [10825 East Blvd. Cleveland, OH] – time: 9 AM-4 PM – ages: 8-13 – price: $350 members; $400 non-members
July 14th: Macro Mayhem at the Library @Parma-Snow Library [2121 Snow Rd. Parma, OH] – time: noon-1 PM – ages: no age limits listed – price: free event
July 15th: Birding at Wildwood @Wildwood Reservable Picnic Shelter, Wildwood Park [17100 Neff Rd. Cleveland, OH {Note: Please double check the address. I did the best I could to track down the correct address, but am not positive and don't want to send people to the wrong place.}] – time: 10-11 AM – ages: no age limits listed – price: free event
July 17th: Catch a Crayfish @Quarry Rock Picnic Area [located off of Solon Rd. in South Chagrin Reservation] – time: 1-2 PM – ages: no age limits listed – price: free event — ALSO: Third Fridays @78th Street Studios [1300 W. 78th St. Cleveland, OH] – ages: all ages welcome – price: free event
Class idea: Play Academy Lab @Main Event [35605 Chester Rd. Avon, OH] – price: 1 Lab = $12.99; 2 Labs =$16.99; 3 Labs = $20.99; 4 Labs = $23.99; scholarship pack {i.e., 2 activity lab OR 2 hour access pass} = $25.99 per person

Hale Farm & Village - living history museum set in the 19th century located at 2686 Oak Hill Rd. Bath, OH
Crawford Auto-Aviation Museum - houses over 170 antique automobile, 21 non-car transportation artifacts {e.g., motorcycles, bicycles, & boats}, 12 aircraft, + 3 carriages & sleighs; located at 10825 East Blvd. in Cleveland, OH
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame - discover musicians from across time and learn a little about music too... located at Union Home Mortgage Plaza 1100 Rock & Roll Blvd. Cleveland, OH
Well, I'd say this week has a lot of potential for homeschoolers of all ages. With everything from fishing excursions to STEM based play at Main Event, there's sure to be something for all interests in this list! So, that's it for me for now... I'm off to go be a mama to a fussy infant and a highly opinionated 4 year old. Check back on Thursday for another new series I want to start. In the meantime, happy homeschooling and happy summer!
