Hello & welcome back, NEO Homeschoolers!! With fall in the air and Halloween creeping up on us, I thought it would be the perfect time to highlight some of NE Ohio's best apple and pumpkin picking locations... Because what family doesn't enjoy a Saturday adventure to the apple orchard or pumpkin patch, right? 😉 All right, let's get started!!

Hayrides, Apples, & Pumpkins, Oh My!

Burnham Orchards [8019 OH-113 East, Berlin Heights, OH] – open 9 AM-5:30 PM Monday-Saturday, noon-5:30 PM Sunday – offers numerous fall festivals starting Sept. 19th + pick your own fruit (i.e., apples & raspberries) & wildflowers + baked goods (e.g., fresh donuts, flaky, fresh pies, & seasonal goodies) at Grandma Bea's Bakery + much more!

Hillcrest Orchards [50336 Telegraph Rd. Amherst, OH] – open 10 AM-6 PM daily – offers corn maze, sandbox, hayride, farm animals you can feed, apple canons, corn box, straw tunnel, pumpkin & apple picking, and much more!

Patterson Fruit Farm [11414 Caves Rd. Chesterland, OH] – open 10 AM-5 PM daily – offers a farm market w/ apple cider, maple syrup, cherry tarts, and even cooking clases; apple + strawberry picking; and fall family fun fest from Sept. 16th-Nov. 1st

Richardson Farm [6984 Lafayette Rd. (Rt. 42) Medina, OH] – open 9 AM-6 PM Monday-Saturday + 10 AM-5 PM Sunday – offers apple & peach picking; a store with jams & jellies, fresh eggs, Amish butter, pickles, salsas, etc.; and an array of different kinds of plants including trees, shrubs, herbs, and flowers

Miller Orchards [8705 Vermilion Rd. Amherst, OH] – open 9 AM-6 PM Monday through Saturday, closed Sundays – offers fruit picking - e.g., apples, peaches, plums, cherries, etc. {see website for more information}; raw honey, local maple syrup, pumpkins, squash, + Indian corn

Arrowhead Orchard [11724 Lisbon St. SE Paris, OH] – open 9 AM-6 PM Saturdays + noon-6 PM Sundays; field trips only Monday through Friday – offers apple picking, hayrides, a corn maze, apple canons, playground, pumpkins, sunflowers, food trucks, & more

Mapleside Farms [294 Pearl Rd. Brunswick, OH] – open 4-9 PM Fridays, 11 AM-9 PM Saturdays, 11 AM-6 PM Sundays, closed Monday through Thursday – offers seasonal events + event hosting, apple picking, concerts, and so much more

Quarry Hill Orchards [8403 Mason Rd. #1 Berlin Heights, OH] – open 9 AM-6 PM daily – offers cider, fruit picking, winery, fruit ice cream, seasonal events, and a shop with gift boxes + merch

Hornyak Farms LLC [15135 Rock Creek Rd. Chardon, OH] – open 10 AM-5 PM Saturdays & Sundays – offers Christmas trees, donuts, peaches, annual Fall Fest, + craft vendor day

Rittman Orchards [13548 Mount Eaton Rd. Doylestown, OH] – open 9 AM-5 PM Tuesday through Saturday, 11 AM-5 PM Sunday – offers a bakery, cider & wine, sunflower + apple picking, + seasonal, homegrown produce

Whew! Well, if you're looking for fall fun in the form of apple & pumpkin picking, NE Ohio has you covered. I'm personally partial to Hillcrest Orchard in Amherst, but I definitely found a couple other farms I'd like to visit in the future while doing the research for this post.
